How to Sign Your Title in Montana (MT)

Where to Sign

Montana car titles must be notarized.

  1. Wait to sign until you are before a Notary.
  2. Front of the title bottom right - sign name(s) on the line where it reads "Signature of Seller."
  3. Back of the title right below where you signed name(s) - print name(s) on the line where it reads "Printed Name."
  4. Front of the title top right - print WHEELZY on the line where it reads "Print Name of Purchaser(s) [show name of individual(s) or business]."

Multiple Owners

All owners listed on the front of title must sign the title. Make sure to sign before a notary.

Lien or Bank Name on Title

If your Montana title shows a lien or a bank name printed on the front, then your title will need to be signed off by the lien holder or have a separate lien release letter.
