How to Sign Your Title in Washington DC

Where to Sign

Be sure to write clearly and sign/print your name exactly as spelled on the front of your title. Avoid white-out, scribbles, and strike-throughs.

  1. Back of the title top left - print name(s) on the line where it reads "Printed Name of Seller."
  2. Back of the title right below where you printed your name - sign name(s) on the line where it reads "Signature of Seller."

Multiple Owners

All owners listed on the front of title must sign the title.

Lien or Bank Name on Title

If your Washington DC title shows a lien or a bank name printed on the front, then your title will need to be signed off by the lien holder or have a separate lien release letter.
